We Scream Nice Cream!!! This banana ice cream is gonna be our rescue for the summer (and for our figure) and it’s hard to find a more easy, delicious AND healthy dessert than this. If you think Nice Cream is a boring variety of ice cream, then think again. Despite that it only has one ingredient, it is wonderfully airy, creamy and sweet.

This is also a dessert where your creativity can run freely. Different combinations of flavors for your Nice Cream is only limited by your imagination. If your own creativity should fail, we know from experience, that the kids have countless ideas of what to mix into it (we tried it for a new version of our ice cream shop) – let’s just say that some ideas were better than others! 😉

Some of our favorites are: mango, blueberries, chopped peanuts with chopped dark chocolate, roasted almonds, vanilla, strawberries, raspberries, fudge, M&M’s and marshmallows. And who knows, maybe a new favorite will be created this year.

Nice Cream is best served directly after it’s made, but can also be frozen again. – Just remember that small ice crystals will be formed (but the kids doesn’t seems to bother).

Recipe

You will need:

Serves 1
2-3 ripe frozen bananas (about 200g)

Tip!

Don’t make large portions, as you risk overheating your blender and the Nice Cream starts to melt.

How to:

  1. Let the frozen bananas melt for about 15-20 minutes so that the food prossecor doesn’t have to work too hard. We always use a food processor for our Nice Cream, but if you prefer to use a blender you can read here which models that are the best.
  2. Cut the bananas into smaller pieces and blend them in the food processor until it has an airy and creamy consistency.
  3. If you use frozen berries as flavor for your Nice Cream, add them from the get go and blend them together with the bananas.
All other flavor ingredients should be added just before the Nice Cream is ready, only to combined them with the Nice Cream.
  4. Serve immediately.
