Affogato is probably the easiest of all desserts. It takes about two minutes to make, requires only two ingredients (vanilla ice cream and espresso) and for all coffee lovers like us – it tastes divinely good. We usually top it with chopped dark chocolate or whipped cream and serve it with biscotti or a small biscuits. Buon appetito!

Recipe

You will need:

Serves 1
• 1-2 scoops of good quality vanilla ice cream
• Freshly brewed espresso or strong coffee
• Dark chocolate 70% (optional)
• Whipped cream (optional)
• Biscotti or biscuits

How to:

  1. Place 1-2 scoops of vanilla ice cream in a chilled glass.
  2. Pour the espresso over the ice cream.
  3. Sprinkle with chopped dark chocolate or top with whipped cream.
  4. Serve immediately with a biscotti or biscuit.

Tip!

For the kids: Make a Float and serve the vanilla ice cream in a glass of Coca-Cola instead of coffee.
