Bonfire Bread

Recipe

You will need:

• 25 g yeast
• 300 ml. water
• 1 tsp. salt
• 500 g wheat flour
• Butter or oil
• 10 sticks

How to:

  1. Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water.
  2. Add salt and wheat flour – a little at a time. Knead the dough well.
  3. Let rise for about 30 min.
  4. Cut the bark of 10 sticks and grease them with a little soft butter.
  5. Roll out the dough into 10 thin “sausages”. Wrap one “sausage” of the dough around each stick.
  6. Let the dough rise for another 20 min.
  7. Bake the breads golden over the embers on the fire for approx. 20-30 min., until they are thoroughly baked – remember to rotate regularly so that they do not get burned.
