Every year we are blessed with always to celebrate New Years Eve with the same wonderful friends and their kids.The different tasks for getting a succesfull evening are distributed among all of us, so that the evening runs smooth, with no stress and only with lots of joy. With a couple of really good wine connoisseurs in the circle of friends, the focus is usually on fine bubbles and good wines. But that won’t stop us from giving you our best tip for a festive drink for this enchanting evening.
Recipe
You will need:
Infused Gin:
• 2 dl gin
• 6 cardamom pods
Rosemary Syrup:
• 2 dl sugar
• 2 dl water
• 2 rosemary sprigs
Cocktail:
• 2 cl rosemary syrup
• 3 cl infused gin
• 1 dl freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
• splash of prosecco or champagne
• sprigs of rosemary, to garnish
How to:
Make the infused gin:
- In a small jar with an airtight lid add gin and cardamom pods. Seal and store for 24 hours.
Make the rosemary syrup:
- In a small saucepan bring sugar, water and 2 rosemary sprigs to a simmer until sugar is dissolved.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
Make the cocktail:
- Add infused gin, rosemary syrup and freshly squeezed grapefruit juice in a cocktail mixer.
- Add lots of ice and shake.
- Pour into a glass. Add ice cubes and top with prosecco/champagne.
- Garnish with a sprig of rosemary.
