The combination of Apple and Cinnamon in a delicious crispy dough with Salted Caramel Sauce drizzled over it, is just completely unbeatable if you ask us. This apple galette isn’t just insanely good, it’s also beautifully rustic and perfect to serve during this season. We prefer to serve it with vanilla ice cream, but it works just as fine with fluffy whipped cream or vanilla custard.
Recipe
You will need:
• 150g butter, cold
• 3,5dl / 210g all-purpose flour
• 2 tbsp icing sugar
• A pinch of salt
• 2 tbsp water
• 5-6 Apples
• 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
• 3/4 dl / 65g sugar
• 1 tbsp cinnamon
• 1 egg
• Chopped salted almonds
• Vanilla ice cream
• Salted Caramel Sauce
How to:
- Mix flour, icing sugar and salt.
- Cut the butter into small pieces and add it to the flour mix. Combine until the dough crumbles.
- Add water and quickly mix together into a dough.
- Let the dough rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Peel and cut the Apples into thin boat slices.
- Mix them with lemon juice, sugar, and cinnamon. Set aside.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C / 390°F
- Roll out the dough to a round circle of 30-35cm in diameter on a baking sheet covered with baking paper.
- Place the apple slices in circles. Leave about 4 cm from the edge. Fold the edge over the apples.
- Brush the edge with beaten egg and sprinkle with chopped almonds over the galette.
- Bake until the galette is beautiful golden brown about 25-30 minutes.
- Drizzle Salted Caramel Sauce over the galette and serve with vanilla ice cream.
